Overview
At Dandenong North Primary School we follow the Victorian Curriculum F-10 which sets out what every student should learn during their first eleven years of schooling. The curriculum is a common set of knowledge and skills required by students for life-long learning, social development and informed citizenship. The Victorian Curriculum F-10 incorporates the Australian Curriculum and reflects Victorian priorities and standards.
We understand that every child is unique and they each bring to school a range of experiences. We believe that all learners need to experience success and that learning is a cumulative process so all teaching should build on what the learner already knows. With this as our overarching philosophy, we implement an explicit teaching approach that is applied across all curriculum programs.
Our teachers access the Vic Curriculum documents and assess in the following areas:
With the changes to the curriculum there have also been modifications to the “A-E” rating scale employed during the reporting period. If you would like further clarification regarding these changes, please find the attached letter that was sent home with this year’s mid year reports.
