the Victorian Government May Budget to help us achieve this long-held goal. Our Dandenong Member of Parliament, the Hon. Gabrielle Williams, has worked with, and been supportive of the school council over a number of years to ensure our students and community finally have this much needed building.
The School Council also established and commenced a building project fund many years ago to enable our school to contribute towards the construction and fit-out of a gymnasium should we be successful in securing funding. These funds will now be able to supplement the government funding to ensure our students have access to the best ‘state-of-the-art’ facilities for decades to come.
The existing Ella Athorn Hall, built through the hard work and fundraising efforts of our past families during the 1960s and 1970s, will be modernised and converted into library and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning spaces.
This huge project will complete the modernisation program of our school that commenced in 2011 through the BER Program.
Even though there will be disruption throughout the building program, the end result of a full-size gymnasium, canteen and music room will deliver the standard of facilities that our students and our community richly deserve.
