Harmony Week celebrates Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community. Our school is made up of many cultures, and it is this wonderful mix which makes our school a unique educational setting.
Dandenong North will be celebrating Harmony Day on Friday 19th March, after missing out on this event last year. Children will be given the opportunity to dress up in inspired by their own cultural or may opt to wear orange – the colour of Harmony. This is a wonderful time of the year to encourage children to sit down and learn about the stories and practices of other cultures.
We will be celebrating a little differently this year due to Covid-19 restrictions. Students may take part in lessons within their year levels; however no cultural food will be able to be shared. Also, parents will not be able to attend onsite for this event. Students don’t need to purchase a special outfit ,just use what they have at home or wear the same outfit they wore previously.
